The task
To achieve this, Mainnovation was asked for assistance. The starting point was to combine this process with the organization and filling of the asset management system. RWG wants to be in control of the many activities carried out by contractors. For this the maintenance contracts in Maximo had to be secured with the right clustering and cost structure.
The approach
A Quick Scan was carried out for the certification to assess where gaps still existed for RWG. This has been worked on over a period of six months to resolve this. A start has been made on a full year planning in order to have the coat rack to suspend all activities of third parties. Lifecycle Management Plans (LMPs) have been drawn up for the different types of assets such as quay cranes, stack cranes and AGVs. By building up the maintenance contracts consistently in Maximo and requiring the contractors to work and report in this way, a uniform work process is created in the management of outsourced maintenance.
Mainnovation’s added value
The approach with the Quick scan and the experience with IS055000 helped to ensure that RWG obtained the certificate for ISO55000 in November 2016. The VDMXL approach results in concrete LMPs with Lifecycle Calendars in which prognoses, cost and investment needs and associated risks are set that have to be reviewed annually.
While the terminal was already handling containers, they were still busy filling the system
The VDM analysis showed that the new processes would result in a significant improvement in efficiency.
