The Task
At one of the production locations in the Netherlands, Döhler processes fruit juice concentrate into various unique products that are distributed to customers as semi-finished products. To achieve production growth, this plant aims to increase the reliability and availability of the existing plant park with equal financial resources. The realization of this increase required further development of the Reliability Engineering activities in the maintenance department.
The Approach
Mainnovation offers a long-term coaching program for the further development of these Reliability Engineering activities. The RE Roadmap developed by Mainnovation forms the starting point for this. A maintenance program is being developed for selected installations together with Döhler’s own employees. Parallel to this, training and guidance is given in the application of different techniques from the Roadmap. These are selected on the basis of the knowledge and skills needs of the employees. A wide range of topics have been addressed, including setting up and using KPI measurements, the use of methodologies such as RCA and FMEA in the development of maintenance programs, the determination and optimization of quantities of spare parts, and the structured set-up of lifetime-extending maintenance.
Mainnovation’s Added Value
The coaching of Mainnovation helps Döhler to use their own Reliability Engineering capacity as effectively and efficiently as possible. By selecting specific installations and problems for an improvement program, the number of unplanned downtime has been reduced to a minimum for a number of installations. The coaching of employees ensures that the maintenance department can continue further improvements independently.
